Educational and Experience Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, project management, or other related field required. Masters degree preferred. Six years of related experience with one year of professional management or project management experience. A combination of education, experience, certifications, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

The Director of Enterprise Services will provide leadership, vision, and management to the Enterprise Services department overseeing the technical architecture of the university Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system consisting of application and database infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

Provides leadership, vision, and management to the Enterprise Services department. Develops departmental strategies and processes to optimize operations. Establishes guidelines for and oversees the requirements, specification, design, development, implementation and support of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages. Conducts departmental meetings to review strategic goals and initiatives, promote team building and work to provide growth paths for staff. Plans, budgets, and supervises Enterprise Services staff. Implements project management activities such as analyzing user requirements, procedures, and needs to ensure compliant, on-time and on-budget project success. Provides day-to-day supervision, conducts performance appraisals, and delegates work assignments for Enterprise Services personnel. Recruits, hires, and provides appropriate training for Enterprise Services staff. Ensures University practices comply with all policy and regulatory guidelines. Maintains the integrity and continual operation of the ERP system. Maintains security and privacy of the information systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Must be able to work collaboratively with faculty and staff in diverse disciplines toward the goal of information technology success. Maintains important contacts with other professional and managerial staff in other departments and divisions, University Administrators and Executives, State and Federal agencies, and outside vendors. This role requires a demonstrated ability to establish congenial work relationships and to communicate effectively within the department and workgroup, throughout the university with professional or managerial staff, and with outside vendors. Interprets and implements complex policies, statutes, and regulations affecting the department or university level. Work requires critical judgment, a high level of initiative, and complex reasoning to solve division and university issues.
