Reports to: Director of Technology and Making
Position Purpose: To configure, maintain, and support the computers, mobile devices, information systems, and general connectivity of the school community.
We are seeking an outstanding technology support specialist for our school. This position will begin as soon as possible.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot macOS and Windows notebook computers.
- Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot iOS and tvOS devices.
- Configure and deploy software to faculty, staff, and student devices.
- Set up, configure, and deploy printers and other peripherals.
- Maintain user network connectivity.
- Work with VMWare and virtual machines.
- Co-manage Blackbaud onSuite (Student Information System; Learning Management System; Content Management System).
- Troubleshoot and repair PC and Macintosh computer hardware.
Other Responsibilities
- Build standard images on faculty, staff, and student devices.
- Provide general audio/video support for classroom installations, including projectors, televisions, and audio equipment.
- Administer systematic backups of network-attached storage (NAS) and storage arrays.
- Write and maintain documentation for hardware, software, and equipment.
- Work with the director of technology and making to support our student 1:1 laptop program.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience with configuration, troubleshooting, and management of macOS and Windows devices.
- Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) preferred
- JAMF Certified Technician/Administrator/Expert preferred
- Knowledge of Gsuite for Education; JAMF Pro; Microsoft Remote Desktop
- Knowledge and management of Apple Configurator 2 and Apple Volume Purchase Program for Education
- Working knowledge of Active Directory concepts and administration
- Working knowledge of networking protocols (including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with constituents of the entire school community.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and define problems, prioritize issues, and implement or recommend appropriate solutions.
- Preferred experience working in an academic environment
- Preferred experience working with wireless networks
- Preferred experience managing Blackbaud onSuite
- Must successfully pass a LiveScan and TB test.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend, crawl, and reach
- Ability to climb ladders to install computer wiring and perform other tasks
- Work in a traditional climate-controlled office environment
