The Business Process Improvement group within Information Technology Services at Temple University is looking for someone who is passionate about technology and who is willing to take on a challenge of finding a technical solution to business problems.  This developer’s position is responsible for administration of the Universities’ Document Management tool as well as developing the solutions using various technologies such as Oracle PL/SQL, Web Services and core web technologies.

Working independently or as a team member, the qualified candidate will develop integrated, best-practice technical solutions to support departmental and university wide users.  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Computer Science or Management Information Systems and at least 2 years of technical experience. Demonstrated experience with Oracle PL/SQL or Microsoft T-SQL. Experience with HTML, Java, Javascript and/or .Net. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Demonstrated knowledge of a Windows Environment.

* Strong understanding of relational databases.

* Understanding of software development lifecycles.

* Demonstrates ability to elicit and document user requirements. 

* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of management and staff.

* Understanding of project management and timelines.

* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, if necessary.

 

Preferred:

* Desire to program applications utilizing HTML, Java, Javascript, .Net and SQL. 

* Ability to assist with a windows server based upgrades of the Document Management System.
