Education Technology Specialist
West Coast University is looking for a new team member who enjoys assisting students and faculty with technical troubleshooting and implementing cutting-edge educational systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working within a team structure and communicating with students, faculty, and administrative staff at all levels of the organization and be familiar with multiple avenues of communication including, but not limited to: email, phone, in-person, and screen casting. The Education Technology Specialist position is responsible for supporting the university technologies for the various learning modalities at West Coast University including, but not limited to, Blackboard Learn LMS, third party publisher systems, Kaltura video platform, enterprise level syllabi software, adaptive learning, e-Portfolios, custom multimedia presentations, web conferencing tools, plagiarism software, and assessment integrity solutions.
Bachelor degree in technological or education related field required.
Associate’s degree may be considered using equivalent years of experience.

- Minimum 2 years experience in an online learning environment using higher education learning management systems. Blackboard experienced preferred and highly desired
- 2+ years full time work experience in higher education, with experience supporting faculty in online, hybrid, web enabled courses utilizing instructional technology.
- Knowledge of advanced Blackboard system administration and student information system integration highly desired
- Experience with web conferencing tools in a multi-campus/office, virtual setting preferred
- Working knowledge of SQL and database management a plus
- Experience with professional training facilitation or higher education online, face-to-face, and hybrid environment teaching experience a plus
- Experience working with enterprise-level customer support systems a plus.
- Experience producing graphic and video instructional/tutorial materials a plus.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology and industry standards.
- Can implement new processes, procedures, and standards in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences in both verbal and written forms.
Experience in the fields of allied health, nursing, or science is a plus.
