Ranney School is an Age 3-Grade 12 independent, college preparatory school based in Tinton Falls, NJ. The Upper School seeks a computer science and robotics teacher and coach to take over its lauded and popular computer science and robotics program. The teacher will be responsible for teaching multiple sections of computer science courses and robotics. Recent offerings include:

  •   AP Computer Science Principles

  •   AP Computer Science A

  •   Honors Computer Science

  •   Honors Advanced Robotics and Engineering

  •   Introduction to App Development

  •   Introduction to VEX Robotics

  •   Introduction to Web Design

Candidates will ideally have degrees (undergraduate and graduate) in computer science and/or a related field and experience with teaching computer science in an Upper School. AP teaching experience (both Comp Sci A and AP Comp Sci Principles) and is ideal.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  •   Teach five Upper School Computer Science and/or Robotics Courses (Occasional teaching in other disciplines may be possible, depending on enrollment)

  •   Coach the Upper School VEX Robotics team which has had great success at state, national, and international competitions over the last five years

  •   In addition to a full-time teaching schedule faculty serve as advisors, mentor students in co- curricular activities (coaching robotics, for example), participate in division and department meetings, serve on school-wide committees and in various supervisory roles. Developing strong relationships with students and colleagues is critical for one’s success at Ranney and for the school’s successful accomplishment of its mission.
