Duties

The Security Technology Project Coordinator coordinates all aspects of project related interactions with the University’s Information System and Computing Division. This includes specifying all project related requirements as they pertain to ISC such as IP ranges, port activations, vlan requirements, POE requirements, etc. Responsible to coordinate and communicate project related details with internal DPS Security Technology Project Manager, Facilities’ Building Administrators and Project Managers, customers and vendors to ensure milestones are met and schedules maintained. Maintains project related documentation and ensures all requirements for project processes are met and current in the Division’s ticketing system. Assists the Critical Infrastructure Support Specialist Sr. in providing technology support for Divisional project management of PennComm, Police, and Security Technology related projects. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to work in a fast paced environment; ability to troubleshoot issues; excellent decision making skills; ability to manage large scale and high volume projects; ability to meet strict deadlines; ability to work autonomously; must be dependable and attentive to details; excellent interpersonal skills; good customer service and vendor relationship management. Committed to serving the interest of the University community and the strategic goals of the Division of Public Safety.

Requires experience with the following: Fiber Optics, IPv4 and IPv6 protocol, Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Cisco switches and routers, multicast and broadcast, wireless infrastructure, telephony, knowledge of Access Control Systems and Video Management Systems concepts. Experience within UPPD strongly preferred

This position is classified as essential personnel (24 hours/7 days), which may require weekends; must be willing to work on-call. Must successfully pass a criminal background check. Must sign a confidentiality statement.
