Technology Specialist
Lincoln School, founded in 1884, is an independent K-12 Quaker girls’ school in Providence, Rhode Island. We are currently seeking a full-time Lower School Technology Specialist for the 2018–19 school year.
Position Description
The position entails teaching a range of coding, robotics and technology classes in our Lower School (Nursery - Grade 5). In addition, the technology teacher collaborates with and provides professional development to faculty in the Lower School on incorporating technology into their instruction and student activities. The successful candidate will be an active member of the Technology Department, bringing a strong commitment to Lincoln's evolving educational technology program. The preferred candidate will have experience with and a dedication to student-centered teaching and differentiated instruction. A sense of humor, a belief in an all-girls educational environment, as well as the desire to inspire, teach iterative thinking and problem-solving skills, and engage young women are essential. Contributions to school life beyond the classroom are expected, as well as the ability to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of Lincoln School. A bachelor’s degree is required with a master’s degree preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Regular presence in to all classrooms, Nursery through Grade 5, to teach and support a variety of technology applications–instruction and student activities
- Professional development to teachers
- Managing Maker Space
- Teaching coding and robotics
