Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement & Communications, this position is responsible for providing both technical and graphic support to Hillfield Strathallan College. This position will use both print and online marketing strategies in the development of Hillfield Strathallan College’s internal and external communication and marketing initiatives. This position is also responsible for contributing to the social media strategy and assisting with various marketing and communications projects.

 

Duties:

  • Provide technical and graphic design support in the development of internal and external communication initiatives
  • Work closely with Marketing & Communications officer. Website and Digital Media Officer and any additional Marketing and Communications support to ensure graphic design requirements are met.
  • Work closely with departments to help direct and implement communication initiatives of Hillfield Strathallan College
  • Collaboration with the communications team to create layouts for digital and print materials
  • Coordinate logistics relating to print requirements, posters, banners and any other materials to increase Hillfield Strathallan College’s profile and promote Hillfield Strathallan College’s activities.
  • Create and design external graphic marketing design such as: Invitations, media screens and signage in order to ensure strong brand identity
  • An independent thinker with strong attention to detail is essential 
  • Undertake special projects as requested
  • Other related duties as assigned 

 

The successful candidate should have a diploma in graphic design or a closely related area, and at least one year  communications experience in a fast paced environment. Experience in a not-for-profit environment an asset.  An ideal candidate is able to work both independently and in collaboration with others, has excellent communication, organizational and planning skills, expertise in using web-based tools and technologies (e.g., Google Analytics, e-mail marketing software, social networking applications and media sharing sites) and website content management software, understanding of social media, blog management, and related best practices, experience with Adobe Creative Suite software, particularly Photoshop and InDesign experience preferred.
