POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Directs the college’s technology initiatives in alignment with the College’s strategic plan. Collaborates with the College’s executive leadership to promote the use of sustainable technological resources. Primary responsibilities include oversight of the Ellucian managed service contract and strategic liaison between the college community, Office of Information Technology (OIT) staff and Ellucian. This includes assessment of service level agreements. Performance and satisfaction metrics, operating and capital budget management, legal and regulatory compliance and IT governance. Coordinates with functional departments, technology users across the College and Ellucian to develop a roadmap for technology with regard to appropriate architectures, platforms, applications, security and integration with Ellucian Colleague.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinates with functional departments to identify, implement and optimize business processes through the application of technology.
  • Works in a collaborative, consultative fashion with other departments as an advisor/advocate of technologies that enhances efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the approval of all IT related requests and purchases.
  • Oversees the student and employee portal environment, including coordination with content leads on site standards, maintaining content accuracy and relevance and future vision for the portal.
  • Responsible for College’s electronic accessibility compliance, audits, quality checks and coordinates the creation and education of best practices, policy, procedures, guidance and tools related to digital accessibility.
  • Provides guidance and record keeping to ensure digital accessibility of college programs and services.
  • Coordinates the creation and education of information technology best practices, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Effectively communicates technical information to non-technical individuals and groups and keeps the College’s executive leadership informed and educated on technology related issues and initiatives that enhance the student experience and add value to the College’s human capital and organizational development.
Required Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis and Design or similar formal education
  • Project administration experience
  • Minimum 3-7 years of progressive IT experience
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional collaborative and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or similar ERP
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, productivity and exercise independent judgement effectively in decision making processes
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Able to interpret and communicate complex policies and procedures to others and apply significant tact and diplomacy at all times
  • Comfortable with public speaking, including presentations
Additional Experiences Considered

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES CONSIDERED:

  • MBA/MS in related field
  • Experience in higher ed, K12 and/or community college work environments
  • Experience with electronic accessibility compliance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws, policies, standards, and best practices in this area
  • Experience in contract administration
