Database Manager

We are seeking an outstanding database manager for our school's development office. This position will begin as soon as possible.
The database manager works closely with the development team, and reports to the director of development. The database manager is responsible for strategically organizing and managing all aspects of the fundraising database of all school constituencies, including the processing and recording of all gifts to the school. The database manager is expected to help advance the school’s mission by supporting the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship goals for The Brandeis School of San Francisco.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain standards for database and donor records.
- Establish and implement manual control system to ensure data integrity.
- Update and maintain donor records.
- Enter all gifts and pledges in a timely manner (within 48 hours).
- Prepare, track, print, and mail all gift acknowledgments (within 72 hours).
- Draft, customize, and send donor reminders for gifts outstanding and pledges due.
- Create and run queries, exports, and reports using data parameters provided, including giving histories, giving ranges, prospect research, targeting specific groups, weekly merges for letters processing, and solicitations for different constituent groups.
- Help with data and mailings for solicitations, gift collection, event invoicing, etc.
- Create subgroups of the database as needed for segmenting the constituents for appeals, reporting, etc.
- Maintain changes to constituency codes.
- Create customized reports as needed.
- Run financial, analytical, and statistical reports which relate to funds and campaigns on a bi-weekly or as-needed basis.
- Compile data and run lists for Annual Report.
- Compile data for NAIS and ABADO reports.
- Run financial reports for reconciliation and preparation for audit with finance office.
- Other duties as assigned to support the development office on an administrative level. This is an “all hands-on deck” department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years in a non-profit environment (independent school experience preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of database management experience.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Cooperative attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a team.
