Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and delivering the day-to-day operational functions of the Center’s Technology Services department. This position makes tactical and mid-level operational decisions in order to carry out OTS mission and vision. Operational functions include but are not limited to: Local Systems Administration, File and Print services, Desktop Software/Hardware Support, Service Delivery Management, and all collaborative engagements involving OTS representation. A member of a 24/7/365 global department.
Job Functions:
- Supports and maintains PC, peripherals, in-house audio-visual equipment and non-print media assets as required; this includes operating, maintaining, distributing, installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading PC, various audio-visual and media products while ensuring their optimal performance
- Coordinates daily operations and maintenance of Center’s Technology Services department
- Provides and maintains a strong technical knowledge of desktop operations and service delivery
- Works collaboratively with local administration, faculty, and support personnel in the implementation of Campus/System-wide projects
- Supervises other OTS-Center personnel
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses desktop and any other system problems in a timely and accurate manner, and works collaboratively with Campus OTS teams to resolve issues
- Provides end-user training and assistance where required
- Responsible for technical services support
- Works collaboratively with Center leadership to maintain open lines of communication to ensure reliable, available, and secure technology use environment
- Participates in asset management and budget planning process to meet needs of the Center
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

- Requires full working knowledge of job responsibilities including basic knowledge in a professional field; requires general understanding of some operations outside own work unit
- Ability to deal with problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces; sees relationships between problem components and prioritizes them; utilizes knowledge, experience and available resources to find solutions; may participate in development of improvements and help implement change

- Ability to determine people who are critical to accomplishing results, and brings them together to problem solve or share workload; leads small groups through process of problem solving, soliciting ideas and opinions to form recommendations or action plans; works to identify and solve issues in the group
- Ability to interact with others, employing a communication style appropriate to the person or audience; seeks additional information to enhance understanding; communicates basic established processes and procedures, formally or informally; compose various types of business communication (e.g. email)

Work Schedule & Conditions:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree or minimum 5 years of experience in technology industry as an Operations Manager/Coordinator or Systems Administrator
- A + or industry recognized equivalent
- ITIL or industry recognized equivalent certification
- Apple Certified Support Professional
- Project + or industry recognized equivalent
- Experience and education can be substituted for certifications
Preferred:
- Technology operational leadership experience in a higher education institution
- MCSA or industry recognized equivalent
- Project management experience
