Position Description

The School of Education is seeking a qualified candidate for the Director Information Technology Services position.

The position provides leadership and oversight to the operations, information technology services, and online instructional development efforts in the School of Education. This position works with the senior administration to provide the vision and strategy for all aspects of information technology in support of the academic, administrative, and research functions of the School.

The ideal candidate will possess management skills in directing and supervising people, projects, resources, vendors and business partners, with at least three years of experience in a supervisory role; should possess a solid understanding and working knowledge of the use of information technologies including networking technologies, network security, web technologies, telecommunications, and wireless connectivity; demonstrated ability to lead and manage change across the organization in a resource constrained environment; and interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with the School’s constituents, as well as University IT professionals and the external community. Incumbent must be able to lead efforts to upgrade faculty and staff facility with technologies that enable more effective pursuit of the School’s mission.

Masters degree preferred; Strong leadership abilities; familiarity with intructional and informaiton technologies; excellent planning and organizational skills

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
