Information Technology Librarian
The Candidate will design, maintain and administer all databases. Must be a self-starter who possesses the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced customer service environment. This position requires an organized, detail oriented individual who is a team player. Additionally, serve as a backup to teammates in Information Technology (IT) Department as the need arises.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and oversees Library automation systems (Mandarin M3) and its administrative functions

Retains software and Database licenses as well as service contracts for all Library-related resources & equipments.

Create & manage students & faculty accounts for all online database resources.

Acts as resource person for daily operations and for Library Director.

Assist Library Director with technology set up (ipads, audio enhancements)

iPad registration and setup for all Upper school students
-
Troubleshoot - Student/Faculty online textbooks.

Assists Library Director in faculty/patron/staff training of databases, Mandarin, online reference service, online catalog and web page.

Maintain Upper School Media page.

Recommends technology-related and patron-related policies and procedures to Library Director and advises on long-term needs in relation to these areas.

Develops technology assessments and plans based on students, library, and staff needs.

Schedule Library Labs, Main Library and other resources.

Coordinate with Club Presidents with regards to meetings (Assemblies, Pre-Med, NJHS, Pre-Engineering etc.) and generate reports.

Create, compile and analyze reports for Librarians

Organize and oversee inventory of all library books, iPads and iPad contracts
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as technical resources for Desktop and Systems Administrators.

Collaborate on and implement projects independently or with other IT staff.
-
Assist in iPad implementation.
-
Meet with parents as requested for help with Databases, ipads, and any technology related guidance.

Respond (within 12 hours) to parents concerns/questions related to iPads, online textbooks.

Assist Administrators with new-faculty training and technology needs.

Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.

Be a backup person to Database Coordinator in Plantation and Boca/Delray campus.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science/Media/Computer Science Specialist or related field preferred.

2 years relevant work experience is preferred.

Highly developed understanding of database systems, and proficient with data entry.

Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Office.
-
Proficiency in database report writing, queries and exports.
-
Experience in Mandarin Library Automation (M3) preferred.

Knowledge of database architecture and FileMaker preferred.

Able to work effectively with colleagues throughout the organization.

Able to work effectively under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Able to train, and effectively utilize staff and volunteers.

Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
