Ingham Intermediate School District administrators are responsible for implementing the mission and goals of the District, including, but not limited to, seeking continuous improvement of services provided; seeking to satisfy constituent needs within the parameters of the goals and District resources; providing leadership to enable staff to perform their jobs to the best of their potential, and seeking to make the Ingham ISD indispensable to its constituents.
 
General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Director, Information Technology Services and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Ingham Intermediate School District, the Director is responsible for assisting in the daily operation and supervision of technology systems, services and staff for Ingham ISD and its constituent districts.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required with emphasis in information systems, project management, technology and administration preferred. Adequate related, recent and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Three to five years of recent, progressively more responsible experience in leadershipsupervision and management preferred.
  • Three to five years of progressively more responsible experience in managing technology systems and operations.
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working in or with local school district(s) preferred.
  • Leadership skills to effectively direct and support staff within areas of responsibilities and to effectively supervise staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and understand complex statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking.
  • In-depth knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, operations and terminology.
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • A high degree of problem-solving skills is required in order to analyze, plan and develop solutions for multiple technically complex problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with highly important issues where the need may exist to change the thinking of others and gain the acceptance of others in difficult situations requiring sensitivity to the ideas and values of others, diplomacy and salesmanship.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize and execute tasks and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including a variety of district staff, constituent district staff, community groups and vendors.

    • Current “state of the art” technologies and their applicability to the organization’s function and business model.

 
Performance Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning and implementing instructional and operational technology that supports and advances the strategic goals of Ingham ISD’s constituent partner districts.
  • Oversees technical and network resources for partner constituent districts.
  • Directs and supervises technology staff assigned to service constituent districts. Determines staff training and development needs and oversees the development and delivery of opportunities and experiences that enable staff to maintain and enhance technical skills and capacities to serve.
  • Leads multiple projects and supports/motivates effective teamwork to produce quality results.
  • Maintains successful relationships with all constituent district departments and works effectively with staff throughout all levels of the organizations to ensure that technology systems and solutions support identified needs.
  • Attends building, district, board and other meetings as needed.
  • Assists with developing successful relationships with and providing leadership to all constituent districts and works effectively to cooperate, coordinates and/or collaborates with constituents to share technology staff and services, common software systems and other resources, and provides increased learning opportunities/shared classes for students.
  • Assists with oversight on the implementation and evaluation of constituent district-wide policies, standards, practices, disaster recovery, and security measures to assure the integrity and reliability of computerized information and communications systems.
  • Provides daily supervision of Information Technology staff assigned to constituent districts. Performs appraisals and evaluations, and addresses concerns.
  • Oversees day-to- day technology operations of, and coordinates technology services to, constituent districts.
  • Assists with managing staff workloads including monitoring and managing work orders.
  • Assists with technology planning for Ingham ISD and our local districts including planning, developing and implementing constituent district technology plans as needed.
  • Proactively works to streamline technology, processes and procedures across all partner constituent districts and Ingham ISD. Facilitates standardization, efficiencies and commonalities wherever possible.
  • Maintains and applies up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations associated with federal and state programs in area of assignment including: FCC, federal and state reporting mandates for business and student data management systems, federal and state technology funding, technology planning, product licenses and inventories of Ingham ISD hardware and software.
  • Participates in multi-department and multi-divisional work groups for organizational decision-making.
  • Assists with budgeting process, technology assessment and purchasing, invoicing and purchase orders, eRate and other related activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Information Technology Services.

In alignment with the directions and parameters of the mission, vision and organizational principles of Ingham ISD, the administrator named above shall: 

  • Set effective and efficient program and service goals that align with the mission, vision and goals of the District.
  • Build and support teams that participate in the identification, implementation and assessment of District and/or department goals.
  • Position the District to be indispensable to its constituents.
  • Anticipate and adapt to changes to better serve constituents.
  • Plan and implement professional development for both self and staff to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
  • Maintain an environment in which staff works with trust, integrity and responsibility to ensure that the District maintains a dynamic environment that people seek to join.
  • Supervise staff, defining tasks to be accomplished, setting expectations for standards of performance and following District processes to ensure that the work of the District is accomplished.
  • Demonstrate developing competence in the areas of leadership, interpersonal relationships, individual attributes and aligning performance for success.

 
Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. This position may work at Ingham ISD and/or our constituent school districts. The supervisor must provide his/her own transportation.
