Manager, Enterprise Operations
Provides supervision and technical leadership as a working manager for the Enterprise Operations team with responsibility for enterprise platforms including Microsoft AD, virtualization, storage, databases, and email environments serving the university community. Makes decisions and recommendations regarding enterprise platform technologies resulting from the continual service improvement process. Manages upgrades, projects and technology R&D efforts with a focus on operational stability, timeliness, attention to detail and customer focus.
Job Duties
Evaluate business needs, objectives and goals, research products available and develop procedures to best meet those needs.

Develop plans for implementation of new projects, coordinating process with project leader. Provide well-defined plans including procedures, deadlines, and accountability.

Review on a continual basis the departmental procedures, staffing and equipment for maximum efficiency while controlling costs.

Provide input into the development of the annual budget, providing justification when needed. Review and compare actual results to planned budgetary performance, preparing reports reflecting those results.

Conduct team meetings; provide guidance and direction in accordance with overall strategy.

Stay abreast of emerging information technologies and remain highly technically competent. Assess industry direction and analyze new capabilities that may be applied to the university.

Strive for enhanced user productivity and the implementation of policies that more effectively utilize department resources.

Maintain technical competencies and serve as backup to line staff for routine tasks and workflows.
Maintain awareness of changing trends and regulations which might affect the department and act on as required.

Continue to develop professional skills in the IT and leadership fields through trade magazines, manuals, seminars and courses. Assists in training staff.

Annually complete a minimum of 40 hours training or education on current or emerging technology with an additional 16 hours in leadership training, through trade magazines, manuals, seminars and courses.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Experience with high-volume, mission-critical applications, systems, and databases.
-
BA/BS from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in business operations/management information systems, computer science or related field with a minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in an infrastructure and networking environment and at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Extensive experience required in supervising teams and with responsibility for completing complex deployment projects within budget and on specific timelines.

Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and related technology families, such as Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint and Office 365.
-
Experience with VMware virtualization technologies, such as ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, DRS, HA, and virtualization architecture.
-
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux supporting large enterprise-class application suites and/or Enterprise Resource Systems (ERPs)
-
OR any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to accomplish the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) architecture in a large enterprise environment supporting disparate systems and technologies.

Experience with datacenter operations and architecture.
-
Experience with cloud service technologies (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS) and providers.

Experience with Oracle database technologies.

Experience with project management.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: $90,000-$95,000 annually
Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) hours may vary
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
