FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Academic technology strategy: Develops and defines strategies for the Campus technology, ensuring they support appropriately the needs of the campus according to the expectations and mission of the Berklee Valencia and in full coordination with the College technology strategy in the USA. Technology will be continuously reviewed and updated based on the new trends and needs of the music and education industries.

  • Collaborates with the Executive team of Valencia to create short, medium and long term plans of technology resources and the technology strategy and implementation.

  • Lead the implementation of technology projects.

  • Supervision of the Technology team: Supervise the technology team including recording studios, labs, production, academic technology and information technology personnel.

  • Facilities and equipment (policies and processes): Supervise all Campus technology facilities and equipment including hardware, software, procedures and policies for studios, labs, production department, general campus use, students, faculty and staff.

  • Academics: Collaborate with all Program Directors and coordinate technology needs across all programs.

  • Participate in Faculty and College Committees as required.

  • IT: Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Campus IT infrastructure, databases and software tools, including the student’s intranet.

  • Purchases: Lead relations with suppliers and acquisition of technological equipment (hardware and software). Manage department purchases, define and track the annual Technology budget and propose long-term forecasts as well as financial efficiencies.

  • Events and representation: Collaborate with other College areas in the production of concerts and relevant events. Participate in industry events for networking and contracting purposes on behalf of the College, as well as increasing the visibility of the campus.

Required Skills
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.

  • Knowledge in musical technology tools including music software and communication protocols, recording studios, production equipment, DJ and Macintosh systems among others.

  • Knowledge in information technology, systems, protocols, databases, including cyber security and data protection.

  • Knowledge in the management of ERPs. Experience in ERP migration and its administration will be a plus.

  • Availability to travel occasionally.

     

Required Experience
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Sound Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management positions in music technology and/or music industry fields.
