IT Support Specialist
Arts and Science is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join the Computing and Information Technology Department. This individual will provide integrated information and media technology solutions for classroom, computer lab, and office space throughout the Faculty of Arts and Science. Consult with faculty and administrative staff hardware/software users to identify and resolve problems. Consult with faculty and administrative hardware/software users to understand needs, assess feasibility, and develop effective technology solutions to meet those needs. Develop operating systems registries and write programs to modify existing applications to enhance systems' productivity and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Required Experience:
2 years' relevant experience analyzing hardware, software, peripheral, and systems' performance, writing programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Related experience in academic environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of Windows, NT, PC hardware and software, and UNIX. Proficiency with operating system script and multi-media technologies. Ability to supervise technical support staff. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Relevant certification. Knowledge of emerging informational and multi-media technologies.
