Audiovisual and Classroom Support Technician
The audiovisual and classroom support technician has primary responsibility for Lindenwood University audiovisual system design, implementation, and support. This position is the lead contact with any A/V vendors, and works with vendors to set specifications, timelines, and follow-up for contracted projects.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
Job Responsibilities

Acts as the university expert in design and support of A/V systems

Provides audiovisual system recommendations

Acts as primary contact on A/V ticket issues that deal with projectors, screens, amplifiers and other equipment

Assists tier II IT staff in resolving technology issues

Performs day-to-day help desk services by completing tier II help desk requests, answering telephone calls, replying to e-mails and responding to other inquiries related to IT services at the university

Assists users with identifying IT problems and finding and executing resolutions to their problems
Service Orientation
- Assists users by resolving audiovisual issues first-hand and performing follow-up visits to ensure that the equipment remains functional by using IT and expertise
Communication, Collaboration, and Teamwork

Confers with users to evaluate outstanding complications

Consults with users and resource experts to resolve requests and problem reports

Collaborates with other IT staff to notify them of problem trends and major technology issues
Planning, Organizing, and Accountability

Installs audiovisual software and hardware as requested

Processes, resolves and escalates helpdesk tickets

Submits discovered problem solutions and close reports to the problem tracking system
Initiative, Problem-Solving, and Decision Making
- Works with other Information Technology staff to develop and maintain documentation and best practices
Support the Mission of the University
- Ensures that the university’s IT applications processes uphold the standards and mission of Lindenwood University

Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.)

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience in related field required

Three or more years of experience with IT required

Two or more years of experience working with advanced audiovisual systems preferred

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve A/V, computer, and other technology issues

Must be highly organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Must be able to coordinate with other departments

Must have advanced knowledge of how IT processes can be leveraged to assist the university in upholding its mission
