Global Online Academy (GOA) seeks an Associate Director of Professional Learning to support one of the organization’s primary strategic roles as a professional learning leader. In this position, the Associate Director of Professional Learning will design and implement new online and in-person professional learning programs and partnerships.  

The Associate Director of Professional Learning reports to the Director of Professional Learning and works collaboratively with the GOA Professional Learning Team to ensure high quality programs and curriculum across all professional learning services.

The Associate Director of Professional Learning:

  • Leads professional learning partnerships with schools and learning organizations around the globe.
  • Aligns GOA strategies and best practices to curriculum and content for yearlong and multi-year school partnerships.
  • Has deep experience in instructional design and pedagogy, and the role of leaders and educators in school and organizational change.
  • Manages and collaborates with GOA Learning Design Coaches to ensure successful school partnerships.
  • Leads the training of professional learning design coaches aligned with GOA strategies and best practices.
  • Designs and builds online courses, and designs, builds, and facilitates in-person workshops.
  • Is an expert communicator (written and oral), communicates programmatic work across platforms using a variety of media, and engages audiences of stakeholders (school leaders, educators, coaches, etc.).
  • Works closely with the Director of Professional Learning and is a contributing member of the Professional Learning Team.

What you will do

  • Lead and design school professional learning partnerships using high quality instructional design knowledge, deep knowledge of pedagogy, and a strong understanding of the design of meaningful professional learning experiences for educators.
  • Design, build, and facilitate high quality online courses and in-person professional learning workshops.
  • Collaborate with Learning Design Coaches to ensure high quality learner experience for school partners.
  • Communicate programmatic work and developments using a variety of media and platforms in a way that appeals to many stakeholders.
  • Develop instructional materials for professional learning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Master's degree is required.
  • At least 4 years of related experience in education.
  • Superb communicator.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative individual with the ability to manage a large number of professional relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high quality professional learning based on best practices and leading edge thinking.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience in instructional coaching and improvement.  
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization and time management skills, with the ability to execute against multiple, high-priority projects in a timely manner.
  • GOA works with independent, public, and international schools. Experience working in independent schools, public schools, and/or international schools a plus.
  • Willingness to travel.

The person in this position will work remotely. Salary range anticipated at $70,000-$85,000/year based on experience.
